Türkiye has closed all visa-on-arrival counters
Walk-up visa windows at Turkish airports and land borders are permanently shut, and airlines now verify documentation before boarding. Many nationalities — including all EU states, the UK, the US and Japan — enter visa-free for 90 days in any 180. Everyone else must hold an approved e-Visa before check-in, and there is no exemption for day trips from the Greek islands.

Hagia Sophia charges foreign visitors €25 for the upper gallery
Entry to the gallery holding the Byzantine mosaics is ticketed for international visitors, with the ground floor remaining a working prayer hall entered separately and free. The Museum Pass Istanbul is not valid here, which catches a great many people at the door. Major Turkish site fees are now quoted in euros rather than lira.
